Step 1: Removal
The first step in the paving process is the removal of your existing pavement, whether it be asphalt, pavers or concrete. Action Blacktop Inc. Uses state of the art equipment to remove your existing pavement, load it into our trucks, and haul it away to an asphalt plant where it will then be recycled and turned into brand new asphalt.
Step 2: Base installation and Grading
Action Blacktop Inc. uses only the best materials in the industry. A state blend of RCA base (recycled concrete aggregate or road base) will be installed, graded and compacted. Water is a true enemy of Asphalt. Action Blacktop Inc. uses top of the line laser levels to determine the slope of the parking lot whilst grading the base. This process ensures the water will make its way to the drains in the parking lot. One of the most important parts of the Paving Process is Compaction. Action Blacktop Inc. Uses a combination of Vibratory Rollers and plate compactors to ensure every inch of the sub base is properly compacted.
Step 3: Binder Course (Not Necessary in all Applications)
Once the sub base is properly compacted, we then install what is called a binder course. Binder is a large aggregate based asphalt mix. Binder is extremely strong and durable which is why we recommend it for commercial pavement installation. Once the binder is installed it is compacted with a vibratory roller.
Step 4: Surface Asphalt Installation
After the binder installation comes the Surface Asphalt Installation. The surface asphalt is made up of much smaller aggregates, sand and tar. The surface asphalt or top layer of asphalt has a beautiful finish, and creates a much smoother ride. After the asphalt is installed it is once again compacted with a vibratory roller.
Step 5: Striping Layout.
Line striping is extremely important to keep your customers safe. Line Striping informs your customers of the flow of traffic and where to park. Action Blacktop Inc. uses only Sherwin-Williams DOT approved heavy duty latex paint to ensure your stripes are visible and long lasting.
Thats It! Now it is time to enjoy your beautiful newly Installed Parking lot.
